Terakoya were private educational institutions that taught writing and reading to the children of Japanese commoners during the Edo period. This is an educational project where the Comedians teach “the fun of studying” in order to eliminate the growing academic disparity in Saitama Prefecture.
Yoshimoto Comedians teach elementary school students about “the fun of study that is not taught at school”. It will conducted mainly at the Omiya Raccoon Yoshimoto Theater and in other parts of Saitama Prefecture. We are also considering to make the video footage of the lessons as a packaged content available for sale.
